Eighteen year old Dan stays with Paige, his mother's closest friend, and her husband Arnold while finishing school. After seeing more of their marriage than he should, he develops an unhealthy fascination with Paige. Private moments, strained boundaries, and a vulnerable family crisis draw them into dangerous emotional territory. When Arnold disrupts the fragile balance, Dan turns his attention to Delyse, a teacher hiding a reckless secret with the principal. Armed with what he learns, he starts a chain of choices that makes the season impossible to control.
