Seven years after healer Linther disappeared, Caledor rules the Darknight Wasteland with a heart hardened by betrayal. Once a wolfless outcast and heir to the throne, he had trusted Linther with his soul before their bond was torn apart. Linther returns only because his son Eli is fading fast, but Caledor refuses to let the man who left him walk away again. As old passion clashes with buried fury, Eli begins to reveal an extraordinary inheritance. The truth of his parentage may destroy Caledor's hatred, or make their second chance impossible.
