After being framed as unstable at her grandmother’s funeral and driven from home, wildlife rescuer Mia Hart retreats to a forgotten forest cottage. There, the injured fox, wolf, eagle, and panther she saves reveal themselves as powerful shapeshifting lords—each sent to watch, deceive, or kill her. As Mia awakens as the Moon-Sleep Queen, she must face a ruthless regent, break the magical contracts enslaving the Four Courts, and decide whether love, power, and freedom can survive without a throne.
