Victorious from the north, General Zinnia returned home only to feel a chill at her gate. The girl claiming to be her daughter Quinn, dressed in the gown she herself had sewn, felt like a stranger.
Silently, she approached her husband Xander's study. Through the window, his conspiratorial whisper with her stepsister Zara struck like a dagger. The horrifying truth unraveled: the impostor was Zara's daughter, while her true Quinn had been mutilated and enslaved at the Imperial Farm. Their plot extended to stealing her military glory and her estate.
Standing in the shadows, the conqueror of armies now faced a war within her own home.
