Adeline and her sister Noelle are two separate souls sharing one body, each awake for only half the year. Adeline believes her fiancé, Caleb, loves her—until she discovers that he has been secretly drugging her to force Noelle awake. Caleb needs Adeline’s qualifications to become Alpha, but Noelle is the woman he truly wants to marry. When Adeline tries to stop the wedding, Caleb gives her one final dose, trapping her inside her own body as her consciousness slowly fades. Faced with an impossible choice between saving herself and erasing her sister, Adeline refuses to let anyone decide who should be sacrificed. She asks for only one thing before she disappears: the chance to wake once in spring, a season she has never seen through her own eyes.
