General Richard Grant returns for his mayor daughter's wedding, expecting only to walk her down the aisle. Instead, her police chief fiancé mistakes him for an ordinary man, has him arrested, assaulted, and falsely accused—even destroying the watch left by Richard's late wife. Richard endures in silence until the chief's retirement celebration, where the arrogant groom discovers exactly whose family he is about to marry into.
