When the undead swallow America, chain smoking Ray escapes a bloody clash at a roadside fuel stop and teams up with Cathy, an escort chasing a wealthy life aboard a luxury liner. They are joined by obsessive fan Eddie and struggling actress Zoe, but every hope curdles into horror. Zoe walks into a staged audition, Eddie finds his hero transformed, and Ray saves one final smoke before igniting the fireworks and making his last stand. The remaining three rush straight into the swarm.
