Human nanny Ilara joins the Northern Dragon Palace as caretaker for young dragon Rowan to pay for her sick daughter Ivy’s treatment. Plump and curvy, she is humiliated by slender dragon‑women. Unbeknownst to her, she once saved gravely‑injured Black Dragon King Kael with her breast milk in a storm‑stricken forest. Cursed to recoil from all female contact, Kael can only bear Ilara’s touch.
Forbidden romance develops between them, but Red Dragon noble Rebecca and Elder Cassian plot against the pair. Surviving body‑shaming, murder frames and public trials, Kael uncovers Cassian’s treachery. He kneels and proposes to Ilara as an equal in the hall where she was once ridiculed. With her daughter beside her, Ilara becomes the Black Dragon King’s genuine consort, unapologetically herself.
