Widowed billionaire Victor Hale is tired of women chasing his money, so he hides his identity, uses a wheelchair, and moves into his old apartment to test whether anyone can love him without wealth or status. Then he meets Grace Bennett, a blunt, hardworking butcher who keeps proving every one of his suspicions wrong. Their whirlwind marriage gives Victor the love he thought he wanted—but the deeper he falls, the harder it becomes to confess. When his secret finally explodes at Meridian headquarters, Grace walks away. For the first time, Victor must learn that love cannot be tested, bought, or controlled—and that telling the truth may still be too late.
