This is a folk ghost story from China. On Qingming Festival, the protagonist Lin Yao went to sweep the tombs of her deceased ancestors. She mistook the wrong grave, and her worship summoned her great-grandmother’s spirit. From then on, she was dragged into conflicts between the mortal world and the Underworld, and became an intermediary connecting the two realms.
