Jacob, an ordinary fisherman, fled with Liliana after her husband Griffin skipped town on a gambling debt. During a sea chase, Jacob used a fake gun to buy three days from a creditor. He found a mysterious ring granting ocean power, cleared the debt, and allied with a powerful leader. Mistaken as Griffin's accomplice by warlord Cyrus, Jacob repelled an entire fleet. After saving Nora from sharks and defeating a champion, he earned Neil's support—and began hunting Griffin.
