Ada Ford, the daughter of the wealthiest man, invested money and resources to help her humble-born husband, Jason Smith, establish a jewelry company in order to gain her parents' approval. Two years later, as her parents were about to return to assess his progress, Ada discovered she was pregnant and planned to announce the news at a dinner party as a surprise. However, she was mistakenly confronted by Emily Easton, a woman from Jason's rural hometown who had been brought to the city by him. Emily mistakenly accused Ada of being the other woman, leading to a intense conflict and misunderstanding. Later, both Ada and Emily uncovered the truth about Jason's deception towards both of them.
