Hudson Bryan, CEO of the Bryan Group, organized a music competition in hopes of finding his first love, Lark Canton. Lark was working tirelessly to pay for her adoptive mother's medical treatments, but her adoptive sister, Mandy Canton, repeatedly stole her savings and a precious jade pendant. Mandy then fraudulently entered Lark's original music into the contest and won the top prize. Using the ill-gotten money, she crafted a false high-society identity and even attempted to poison the already critically ill Lark.
By chance, Hudson discovered that Lark's adoptive mother was, in fact, his own long-lost birth mother, and that the dying Lark was the woman he had been searching for all these years. After the truth came to light, Mandy was convicted for her crimes and sent to prison. Hudson was reunited with his birth mother, and a recovered Lark rightfully claimed the music championship.
