At eighteen, Cole Hayes leaves his rural life behind after learning he belongs to the powerful Mercer dynasty. Inside their mansion, a counterfeit successor plots against him, his sister keeps her distance, and his intended bride treats his past with contempt. They mistake his quiet upbringing for weakness, unaware that his adoptive family and farmland hold influence of their own. When the Mercers fall into crisis, the son they cast aside becomes their only hope, though he has never wanted their wealth.
