A joke about fake amnesia ripped off the mask of a two-year relationship. My boyfriend Zane denied our relationship on the spot and pushed me toward his brother Asher. I decided to play along and turn this into a game of revenge. But Asher shielded me from humiliation, protected my dreams, and even vowed in front of my mother's grave to take care of me for life. When Zane finally came to his senses and desperately tried to win me back, I realized—someone had already developed real feelings in this pretend game.
