Her boyfriend’s “childhood sweetheart” shows up as his personal secretary, and suddenly Chloe realizes the brutal truth: she was never the original—just the substitute. But while he’s busy playing house in Austin, Chloe is back in Manhattan saying yes to an arranged marriage with a far richer, far colder man who’s wanted her for years. Now the ex who treated her like a placeholder is about to learn what regret really looks like.
