After thirteen years of loving the wolf she rescued from the black market, Emma overhears Brian admit he has always wished he belonged to her beautiful cousin. Crushed by a lifetime of being mocked for her looks and never chosen by anyone, Emma dissolves their bond, leaves him her home, and starts over as a university lecturer in Miami. There, she meets Finn, a scarred fox Beastkin abandoned after escaping a trafficking ring. As Emma gives Finn the kindness she once begged for, he gives her something Brian never could: fierce devotion and the courage to see her own worth. When Brian returns begging for another chance, Emma must choose between the love that wounded her and the one that finally feels like home.
