Evelyn Shaw believed Adrian Grant loved her. To the world, he was the devoted husband who kissed her at galas and called her his only weakness. But after years of kidnappings, scars, and a lost child, Evelyn discovers the truth: Adrian built their marriage to make her a decoy wife, a public target meant to keep his real love, Maya Cole, safe. When she uncovers his diary, hidden money transfers, and the lies behind every “rescue,” Evelyn uses Maya’s arrogance to secure Adrian’s signature, files for divorce, erases her trail, and disappears. By the time Adrian realizes what he destroyed, Evelyn has already chosen herself.
