A zombie outbreak breaks out. Emily learns about biting incidents at Pinnacle Hospital from the subway in City B. Her neighbor warns the city will be locked down the next day. She immediately takes leave, buys tickets and stockpiles supplies at high prices, and tells her parents to fully stock up and reinforce their house. She narrowly catches the last airport shuttle and flies to City Q to reunite with her family. They seal off their home to defend themselves. Zombies appear downstairs and evolve, with an intelligent leader emerging. The family struggles to survive relying on their stockpiles and home-grown crops. Later, armed men break into the residential complex and commit atrocities. Emily takes great risks to retrieve a drone. She writes an SOS message with her own blood, pilots the drone to send out a distress signal, and is eventually spotted and rescued by the military. She is informed that all zombies in City Q have been eliminated, and the whole family heads for the shelter.
