Luna Carter grew up privileged with solid connections. Naive and head-over-heels in love, she poured all her wealth, social clout and reputation into backing her boyfriend Jake Wilson, a fledgling entrepreneur. She trusted her best friend Mia Brown completely, treating her like family.
Yet Luna’s devotion only became their stepping stone to climb the social ladder. After Jake built his initial fortune off Luna’s resources, his ruthless ambition surfaced. Teaming up with Mia, who’d long envied Luna, the pair mentally manipulated her, spread slander to ruin her reputation, and drained all her assets. Once they’d squeezed every last bit of value out of her, they staged a car crash and murdered her to erase their sordid origin story.
