Battle for the Top Performer

Art Duel for the Folk Beauty is a 50-episode inspirational short drama centered on the intangible cultural heritage of the Xiangxi Miao ethnicity. The story follows the restart of a century-old folk art competition in Dexiong Miao Village, which aims to select the most skilled and virtuous inheritor known as the “Miao Art Beauty”.

Two young protagonists compete on the traditional arena: Bagui, who masters solid Miao martial arts, and Nami, who inherits ancient Miao folk crafts and skills. One is vigorous and powerful, the other gentle and exquisite. Round by round, they demonstrate dozens of authentic Miao heritage skills, including basket water retention, Miao blade dueling, Miao medicinal thermal therapy, Miao embroidery, high-altitude lion dancing, and traditional fire stunts. All scenes are filmed on location with real traditional techniques, without fictional fantasy elements.

During the competition, greedy troublemakers repeatedly stir up chaos, spread rumors, steal ancient cultural relics, and attempt to sabotage the contest and plunder traditional Miao craftsmanship. Facing malicious schemes and conflicts, Bagui and Nami set aside rivalry and unite to defend their heritage. While competing fairly, they popularize Miao traditional culture and break public prejudices.

Blending arena competition, righteous confrontation, and authentic folk customs, the series advocates the core spirits of pursuing both virtue and skill, respecting nature, and inheriting traditional crafts. With an accessible short-drama format, it vividly presents the unique charm of Miao culture and promotes the living inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.
